Anyone who would like the "honest" news regarding the lava, and possible eruption of Kilauea, please check youtube KHON2, Big Island Hawaii Video, or USGS. Those 3 are giving it to us straight. There are many other "fear mongers" who are trying to say the island will split off a portion (which only happens about every 100,000 years or so), or that that Kilauea is about to spread lava thousands of feet in the air, covering the island , or that we need to prepare for a mega tsunami, which usually happens about every 2000 years.
This sort of misleading information, especially on a major network, and down to the people who comment in other articles, really makes me upset because we, who live on the Big Island, have enough to be concerned with. Those of us not in the zone, want to help those who have had to evacuate. So far 27 homes, or 37 'structures' have been lost to lava. The stretch of lava is long, yes, but not all that wide, and no one has been harmed by it (other than inanimate objects) as yet. Please try to help us by keeping outrageous comments to yourself,
